Girly Sporty Girl
This is the last session I’m blogging tonight & rounding out 11 sessions posted on 11.11.11. I’m photographing another wedding tomorrow so I’m getting my batteries charged & cleaning off the memory cards.

Emily was my first 2012 senior this year. We broke up her sessions over a couple different days for a couple different seasons, (mostly because she said her brother stole her location ideas during his engagement session & partly because we wanted the “straight hair look” & “the curly hair look”).

The first day we lucked out with perfect weather. Gorgeous flowers. And green grass! Later we planned to do all the straight hair photos on the same day, but like many of my senior sessions the weather doesn’t want to work with me. Luckily we were able to still get into the high school for some sports shots & rescheduled the rest of the photos for the following week.

And that day was WINDY! and cold. But mostly WINDY! I love that the senior girls I get to photograph brave the cold & don’t even look like they are freezing. I think this last day of photos was my favorite though. The colors were beautiful & the wind worked with us, mostly.

Off to get ready for tomorrow!
Finally! Happy 11.11.11. Part 3 :D
Newborns of 2011
Another 11.11.11 post! For those that know me, they know newborns are some of my favorite subjects. After only 1 newborn last year I’m thrilled this year gave me more opportunities to see these guys in their first weeks of life.
The year had an even better start since one of those newborns was my youngest cousin Brianna. With not many days available, luckily my grandma & I got to make it out to their house before the big snow storms hit early this year. She’s a little chunky baby with a big sister that you can tell just loves her.

The next little girl, Arianna, is the niece of a guy I graduated with & their family are friend’s with my dad. So considering Arianna was born on my dad’s birthday that’s pretty cool! She was completely up for anything we wanted to do during her newborn session and offered us a couple little smiles too!

Little Londyn was the next girlie to come to my studio & is the adorable sister to Alexis who I photographed two year prior! For her pictures we decided to stick her in the same newborn cocoon, though this time we didn’t use the hat since Miss Londyn had a full head of hair! One baby looks like mommy & the other looks like daddy. A very cute pair!

The first boy this year was Aiden, & I think the youngest one to see me this year too. He was so so serious during the session, but the eye contact he gave while doing those expressions was great! He was definitely a cutie & made his session move smoothly.

The next little guys I got to spend the day with since he was in Indianapolis. Joshua was absolutely perfect! He’s the nephew of one of my other clients & so she tagged along to keep me company, visit the little guy, & act as my assistant too! Since we had a bit more time to work we had more chances for different set-ups & he was so calm for all of them. Love this guy!

Finally! The most recent newborn to see me was Little Madelyn! For her I was able to do a mini maternity session with mom the week before she was born. Once she got to the studio she was all awake! Surprisingly she was a calm alert girl too though with the cutest range of expressions. I got to see her again last week, (at a month old), for a couple more family shots, but her newborn ones are still my favorites!

These cuties round out my 11.11.11 posts to 10 sessions! 1 more coming next!

Senior Catch-up
In the spirit of the day, 11.11.11, I figured I’d get on the blogging bandwagon & get some older photos up on this site! For the day I will be blogging 11 sessions, but breaking them up into a multiple posts for ease of reading! I’m still way behind on getting this place completely caught up, (especially now that I’m in the busy season), but I DO still want to have as many sessions here as I can even if they are way behind schedule.
To start with, I figured I should get the rest of the 2011 graduated seniors up before I start with my 2012 seniors! Sorry guy for not getting these up here sooner. I know you are out in the “real-world” or in college now, so this will be an homage to you all!
First up: Katelyn! The day was gorgeous even if a little windy. She took me to her grandmother’s old home & places that were so much more personal & I’m thankful that I got to see a place that was so loved & filled with tradition. Also we went to Hueston Woods for part of her session which I hadn’t been to before for work & hadn’t been in years period. Since Katelyn’s session, & bumming directions from her, I’ve been back many times as it’s gorgeous!

Later that fall I met & photographed Damien. He really just wanted pictures with his truck & jeep, but we managed to get shots for mom too. The smiles were achieved by threatening to let his little sister tell me embarrassing stories about him if we didn’t. I just love laughing shots no matter the subject!

Spring came and along with it endless rain. It ended up working out fine during Paul’s senior session though. The colors came out so vibrant for just being in the early spring so it was worth putting up with the dampness in the air & sprinkles that kept coming. I love that my studio is right in town to give the UCHS seniors the opportunity for their photos on “the home field”.

Finally the last session for the previous year’s graduating class was my cousin Emma & the only non UCHS senior in the bunch for that year. It was another day filled with the threat of rain, but the rain held off until right at the end of the session & for that we both were thankful. For Emma’s pictures we went down the road to her grandma’s, (my great-aunt’s), to experience the end of the spring florals.

Next up, & some of my favorite subjects, the newborns of 2011!

Halloween Snaps v.2
NOTE**As of 6:50pm all photos have been added to the gallery! Thanks!
I don’t know that I was much more ready for Halloween this year than I was last year since I probably had double the amount of people stopping in! I was glad to see a couple familiar faces from last year, (probably more that I didn’t recognize in costume!), as well as families that I get to photograph throughout the year. It was an amazing turnout & I’m so so so glad we did this again! I love seeing all the kids dressed up!
A few things we different in how we set up after the experience last year. I still don’t know that I’m completely happy with the set up when larger groups come in so I still might have more tweaks by the time 2012 rolls around. If any of the families that stopped in here on Monday, or both years!, have any feedback for me, or just a comment on if this is something they’d like me to continue offering, that would be wonderful!
Anyway! The link to the Halloween Snaps 2011 gallery is here:

You just need to click on the image(s) of your children, hover over the photo or right-click, and then choose “download” to save to your computer. You are also able to order any prints online if you’d like or stop in my studio anytime. Otherwise, this is just my gift to you.
Of course I have to leave you with just a few of my favorites from the night:

I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween & a great start to November!!
